AIMS & OBJECTIVES
H.G. Wells very rightly said, "Human civilisation is increasingly becoming a race between Education and Catastrophe."
It is very necessary to educate public mind on vital socio-economic issues. No democracy can afford an ignorant public mind. "We, the Nation' must be enlightened on critical issues. People must be made wise decision makers. Once they begin to understand, they begin to use and adapt right policies.
Institute of Economic Education is committed to take economic literacy to more and more people. In the process it was decided to couple environment literacy with it. At last, the world over realisation is that what is environmentally beneficial is economically beneficial; it cannot be the other way round.
Science has shown us a mirage that it has infinite possibilities and potentials to satisfy never ending human needs. But we have a massive, overwhelming environmental crisis of sustainability to face. We are eroding the very bases of sustainability and we are exhausting earth's carrying capacity.
IEE is determined to educate people to enable them to work as 'Knowledge Workers'. This capacity building will provide knowledge leadership at individual and societal level.
IEE is committed to create an informed public opinion to realise the noble, welfare goals of the Constitution of India.
