Certificate Course in Economic & Environment Literacy Current Developments in Economic Scenario |
Economics Students' Club Economics is too important a subject to be left to Economists. It is necessary for the students of economics to expand and deepen their knowledge of economic affairs. They must develop analytical knowledge of the state of the economy and of the emerging trends. Study of economics must go beyond studying theory. That has to be thorough practical approach in understanding changing economic scenario. They must become 'Solution providers' and must not study economics only from exam point of view. They must debate bout current economic policies at local, regional, national and international levels. They must emerge with their own views and must be able to suggest pragmatic policies. Students from other disciplines too should be involved in the study of economics. Nothing remains aloof from economics, like truth economics involves us all. These students from other disciplines do not understand things like annual budget, etc. Students of economics must be active during budget time and organise debates, discussions, quizzes on budget. There should be competitions on 'Prepare the Budget for the country' and the best budget should be given an award. A mock parliament could be held for conducting budget session. Institute of Economic Education encourages formation of such Economics Students' Clubs in colleges. It offers various services like organising such talks, quizzes and discussions. Speakers are invited to talk on current economic affairs. The Principal and Professors of economics are expected to take lead in formation of such Club in their college.
